Updates to IRF Provider Preview Reports

Jun 10, 2019

Effective 6/1/19, there will be enhancements to the upcoming Provider Preview Reports. The next IRF Provider Preview report is scheduled for June 10, 2019.  These updates will include:

• Freezing the Percent of Residents or Patients with Pressure Ulcers That Are New or Worsened (Short Stay) (NQF #0678) measure to display Reporting Period 10/01/2017-09/30/2018 for all Provider Preview reports through the March 2020 report (June 2020 refresh)

• Ending suppression of the two PPR claims-based measures:

-Potentially Preventable 30-Day Post-Discharge Readmission Measure for Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Quality Reporting Program

-Potentially Preventable Within Stay Readmission Measure for Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities

• Removing two measures:

-On the September 2019 report (December 2019 refresh), National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Facility-wide Inpatient Hospital-onset Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Bacteremia Outcome Measure (NQF #1716) will be removed

-On the December 2019 report (March 2020 refresh), the Percent of Residents or Patients Who Were Assessed and Appropriately Given the Seasonal Influenza Vaccine (Short Stay) (NQF #0680) measure will be removed

• Displaying measure short names in place of their long names and many aesthetic changes to field labels and headings.

• Update of the Discharge to Community Measure

-The refined measure results for the Discharge to Community Measure will be reflected for the first time in the fall 2019 Quarterly Refresh for the IRF Compare website and the related June 2019 Provider Preview Reports.
