Additional Resources to Aid with PBJ Submissions in iQIES

CMS has posted Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) training videos for the internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES) on the iQIES Training Videos webpage on the QIES Technical Support Office (QTSO) website.  Direct links to the videos are provided below.  

Available Video Resources:

• PBJ Staffing Hours – Demonstrates how to use the Manual Staffing Hours Data Entry page on the Staffing Hours tab to enter and update PBJ staffing hours.
• PBJ Submissions History – Demonstrates the Submission History functionality on the My Submissions tab.
• PBJ Employee List– Demonstrates how to use the Manage Employee Data page on the Employee List tab to create and update employee records.
• PBJ Submissions – Demonstrates how to use the PBJ File Submissions page on the My Submissions tab to upload files and view PBJ submissions.
• PBJ Excel to XML Template How to Guide – This is a guide on how to use the PBJ Excel to XML templates on the Staffing Data Submission - PBJ webpage.

• All PBJ  submissions must be completed in iQIES. For more information visit PBJ Functionality is Now Available in iQIES.
• Live phone and email support for November 14, 2026, PBJ Deadline will be available through Friday, November 13, 2026, until 8:00 PM ET. All files must be submitted by November 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. Files for Fiscal Quarter 4, with the reporting period of July 1 through September 30, will not be accepted after this deadline.
