This executable file contains the current version of the jRAVEN software (1.4.0), a Java-based application that allows facilities to collect and maintain facility, resident and assessment information for subsequent submission to the appropriate state and/or national data repository. jRAVEN is free software provided by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). jRAVEN 1.4.0 includes the following enhancements: • v1.14.1 of the MDS 3.0 Item Sets • v2.00.0 of the MDS 3.0 Data Specifications • v2.00.4 of the MDS 3.0 Data Specifications Errata • Additional Help Contents • ‘Outdated’ Assessment Status • Informational Message Updates • Reporting Enhancements • Import functionality compliant with the MDS 3.0 Data Submission Specifications SYSTEM CONFIGURATION/INSTALLATION TYPE STANDALONE The Standalone installation is self-contained on one workstation. Users that have not yet installed jRAVEN and wish to install a Standalone version should: 1. Begin by reviewing the jRAVEN Installation Guide v1.4.0. 2. Use the jRAVENSetup-1.4.0.exe. **Please Note: The Standalone and Network Client version of the application are both included in the jRAVENSetup-1.4.0.exe. NETWORK CLIENT The Network Client/Server installation uses a server to support one or more individual workstations, all accessing one database by multiple computers and users. • Servers hold the central database and must utilize the server installation file first. • Network Clients are placed on each user’s workstation, which then access the database stored on the server. Users that have not yet installed jRAVEN and wish to install a Network/Client version should: 1. Begin by reviewing the jRAVEN Installation Guide v1.4.0. 2. Use the jRAVENServerSetup-1.4.0.exe. 3. Use the jRAVENSetup-1.4.0.exe to install the jRAVEN Network Client to each workstation. Users who currently have a Network/Client installation of 1.2.0 or 1.2.1 MUST apply the upgrade to EACH CLIENT install using the jRAVENSetup-1.4.0.exe. It is recommended that ALL jRAVEN Client installations be upgraded to the latest version prior to logging into the application.
